To all our dear friends and family that have called, sent texts, emails and simply prayed for us...Thank you!
We are excited beyond words to introduce our joy -
Samuel Mouttet.
He was born at 12:19 p.m. Thursday, February 5th, 2009 at Loudon Co. Hospital, Virginia.
* To my dear sister, Marie "Missy" Mouttet - Happy Birthday! The 5th of February is now doubly important to us ;-)

Sam was 7.5 lbs and 20 3/4 inches long at birth. He spent some time in the nursery and there are more photos on our flickr account:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/62275471@N00/Sam is healthy and is growing quickly (it is amazing to watch the daily transformation!). Kristi is doing amazingly well too. She had a safe delivery and is having as quick a recovery as we could have hoped for.

Any doubts that hide in the recesses of your mind about how will you react to the birth of your child quickly melt when you see your baby and you looks at you (right now Kristi has an overwhelming smile while she is holding him for the first time).
This will be the first of many photos and blog updates over the coming days, weeks and months. So I'll continue to post photos on our flickr account:

So many people have said, "having a baby will change your world." That may be the understatement of a lifetime because it doesn't account for the depth it adds to your life. We have prayed and wondered about this moment for over nine months and more importantly we have prayed for years about whether this is what we should do and now with tears of joy we are certain that God has blessed us.
With love to our family and friends

Congratulations guys!!!! There really is no explanation for those first moments. I realize now I did not understand the heart's capacity to love immediately and without regard to reciprocation. Enjoy every new moment...even the blow outs become great memories!
Mike - thanks for the note! I was actually pretty frustrated the 3rd night for not being able to figure out what was causing his crying. Then the next night he and i fell to sleep together while trying to soothe his crying and it changed everything. Now I hear his crying and it makes me smile!
Congratulations, Nate! Plunkett sent your blog link to me. I love seeing the pics on here and Flickr. :) I am so happy for you and Kristi.
Hi Nate - Plunkett totally hooked Meredith and I up with your blog because we were nagging him to death for info! We are just so overjoyed for you - it's always wonderful to watch new parents fall in love with their children. The most beautiful picture of Christ's unsolicited love for us. We will so look forward to meeting little Sam. Enjoy these sacred first months - they pass all too quickly!
Congratulations on your little blessing! I'm sure God will bring you tremendous joy and laughter through Samuel. Little boys are so fun!
CONGRATS! He's precious. I hadn't checked in for a couple weeks obviously! I am so happy for the two of you.. Kristi I'll be calling you soon my friend to check on you! HUGS, Amy
Congratulations Nate and Kristi!!! He's beautiful! So glad to have found you, again, and at such a fun time! And born on Missy's birthday - how cool is that?! Does Milo eat M&M's with his coconut like your doggie in high school ;)?
